Wale finally delivers on the promise he showed on the mixtape about nothing. He's struggled with finding his lane and sometimes looks out of place with his MMG crew. His signature has always been experimentation and looking outside traditional hip-hop for his influences. The outcome has been albums that have been all over the place (although that is exactly what made his mixtapes great). This time he dials down the experimentation and looks to 90s hip-hop for a muse. Rozay also opens up the MMG wallet for the samples. !Cliche alert! The result is his most cohesive album to date and it also turns out to be his best. The piano driven, gospeldelic intro about nothing sets the tone. Showing his lofty sonic ambitions but also the lyrically...TBC
