This album is a delicious treat 🙂
I start with this comment because it is fantastic and it leaves you wanting more. With this album, Jimin said he wanted to make a record of his emotions during the pandemic. Being a vocalist in the biggest boy band of all time does not absolve you from feeling the utter hopelessness others feel during a world-defining event. I’d even say that they (BTS) felt those effects more acutely, because they wanted to share hope, happiness, love and light during a dark time in the world. This happened as they battled their own darkness. This is the backdrop from which Jimin’s album was created.
He then takes us on a journey of confronting his pain and disappointments, diving into a dream state he doesn’t want to escape because it is so much better than reality. The loneliness persists, even though he tries to run away. Eventually, he must face himself and find a way back to reality.
To fully appreciate it, listen to it in order 🥹. The album gives gorgeous storytelling, sung in one of the most beautiful voices of this generation.
